1.) Did someone read to you when you were a child (who, what, when, where, why)?
My earliest memories are from my mom reading to me and my brother. My mom was a librarian in town so reading was always a big part of our life. She would read through a book (a chapter a night) and send us off to sleep.
2.) What's the first book you remember reading that had a lasting effect on you?
When I was in later elementary school I read The Longest Day by Cornelius Ryan. My first real exposure to nonfiction reading of World War Two. I’ve kinda been a history and war reading nerd since.
3.) What genre(s) do you love
Typically non-fiction. Various topics. But also love the fiction novels by Jack Carr (James Reece novels) and Vince Flynn/Kyle Mills (Mitch Rapp novels).
4.) Has a book ever changed your life?
The Bible, Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy Seals Lead and Win, and The Longest Day.
5.) What attracts you to a book? The cover? Podcast? Recommendation from others?
Typically a recommendation from a podcast or Instagram book community.
