1.) Did someone read to you when you were a child (who, what, when, where, why)?
I was never read to as a child… though I did have audiobooks I listened to most nights on an old cassette player, one of which was Moby Dick. I really enjoyed listening to them and can still remember the sound effects.

2.) What’s the first book you remember reading that had a lasting effect on you?
I was never an avid reader as a younger person. I read a book every now and then. Sometimes I didn’t even finish the book. Then about a year ago, I suddenly had an overwhelming urge to read the Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri (I think because I had heard several references to it in a short time). I was so intrigued…there was no looking back. I read the Whole Comedia and was captivated by the beauty and impact of this poet’s writing. I discovered a passion for reading I never knew I had, and I’ve been fascinated and in love with reading ever since.

3.) What genre(s) do you love?
History, religion, philosophy, theology, psychology, and classic lit.

4.) Has a book ever changed your life?
Again, Dante. I thank him for giving me this awesome hobby.

5.) What attracts you to a book? The cover? Podcast? Recommendation from others?
I am attracted to a book that has withstood the test of time. Something which is still enjoyed and discussed hundreds of years later. This is very appealing.
